We are not fighting for equal opportunities but an opportunity to support men by contributing to the growth of the society and being supported by our men, and fellow women.
Women are our daughters, wives, partners, mothers, students, etc, and can do more and give more if given the opportunity. Those are words of the Hon. Commissioner of Women and Children Affairs Sokoto, during an advocacy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, State. A visit by some select role models to solicit for his support on issues of enhancing younger women’s participation in students’ politics, leadership roles, and also decision-making processes in the campus.
The V.C in response said; UDUS is a NO gender barrier institute because they create avenues for female students to be part of every decision-making process but the female students’ capacity and confidence need to be built. So he urges all especially parents to help sensitize and also supports their girls by encouraging them to do more because that is where the change begins. #Catchthemyoung
