Advancing Early Childhood Education in Northwest Nigeria

On February 24–25, our National Executive Director Mr. Tayo Fatinikun was honoured to participate in a high level Advocacy and Media Dialogue convened by UNICEF under the theme “Strengthening Early Childhood Education and Access to Quality Education.”
The engagement brought together key stakeholders/media representative from Sokoto State, Kebbi State, and Zamfara State to address the pressing gaps in access to quality early learning, particularly for children in disadvantaged communities. Early childhood education remains a critical foundation for lifelong development, yet many children across these states still lack equitable opportunities to start strong.
Organized in collaboration with the Sokoto State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), the two day dialogue strengthened media engagement, deepened policy discussions, and reinforced the need for increased public investment and community participation.
A key highlight was the media outing to Sultan Abdulrahaman Primary School ECE Learning Center in Gwadabawa LGA, a project funded by the European Union and supported by @UNICEF. The visit emphasized the vital role of parents and communities in supporting early learning.
We remain committed to advocating for inclusive, accessible, and quality early childhood education for every child.
