#Commemorating the International Day of Zero Tolerance for FGM.
On February 6, 2025, Life Helpers Initiative (LHI) FCT proudly joined the Joint Press Briefing and Road Walk in Abuja to mark the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).
With the theme “Unite to End FGM,” the event brought together key stakeholders, including the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs (FMWA), Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH), UNFPA, UNICEF, UN Women, CSOs, donors, and policymakers, to raise awareness and push for stronger policies to eliminate FGM in Nigeria.
This day serves as a powerful reminder that FGM is a violation of human rights, and together, we must take action to protect women and girls from this harmful practice.
LHI remains committed to ending FGM, protecting the rights of women and girls, and promoting gender equality through advocacy, policy reform, and community interventions. Together, we can create a future free from FGM!
