# Empowering Girls in Yola!!
In coordination with the GBV AoR and key humanitarian partners, LHI Adamawa joined a joint outreach to commemorate World Menstrual Hygiene Day at Government Day Secondary School, Bekaji (Yola North) and Government Day Secondary School, Wuro Jabbe (Yola South). The event aimed to promote safe and dignified menstrual hygiene practices among adolescent girls. Over 100 schoolgirls were sensitised on menstrual health, personal hygiene, and breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation.
LHI distributed its locally produced Nidake reusable sanitary pads, while hygiene kits supported by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and other partners were also shared to support girls’ well-being, confidence, and school attendance.
We appreciate the collaboration of our partners for making this impactful outreach possible. Together, we are building a period-friendly world where every girl can manage her menstruation with dignity, safety, and pride.
