#Commissioning of a Child Friendly Center in Kware!

On June 20th, 2024, we proudly commissioned a new Child Friendly Center in Kware LGA, providing a safe space for education and growth. The event featured addresses by Alhaji Ahmad Baba Altine, Executive Secretary SSAIEC, Hajia Hadiza A. Shagari, Honorable Commissioner of Women and Child Affairs Sokoto, Mr. Micheal Juma, Chief of Field Office UNICEF Sokoto, and Mr. Ibrahim Sesay, Chief of Child Protection UNICEF Abuja. Hon. Muhammad Tukur Alkali, Honorable Commissioner MBES Sokoto, officially opened the center, followed by a vote of thanks from Mal. Muhammad Lawal Maidoki, Chairman of Sokoto State Zakat Commission, and a closing prayer by Liman Hamisu Garba Kalalawa.

Children performed a role-play on early child marriage and the importance of education, while adolescent girls showcased practical skills they have acquired.

This project, Almajiri and Out of School Adolescent Girl Intervention, is sponsored by Eleva Foundation in partnership with UNICEF, the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Sokoto, and the Arabic and Islamic Commission. Life Helpers Sokoto is a key implementing partner in Kware, Binji, and Tangaza LGAs Sokoto.
